A single blog post, written ten years ago was the beginning of Geoawesomeness! Geoawesomeness was founded to illustrate, examine and celebrate the impact of location technology and data on our lives.
A decade later and the location based blog boasts a global team with the aim of being the best independent geo-news and commentary platform. The blog focuses on startups, industry trends, careers and industry commentary.
Ten years is a long time in the tech industry and Aleksander Buczkowski (editor in chief) and Muthukumar Kumar (managing editor) should be proud of their achievement. That single blog post written by Aleks in 2011 has led to over 100 authors providing content for over 2,000 articles and over 14 million page visits.
“We founded Geoawesomeness in 2011 as a blog to discuss how technology is changing the way we answer the question ‘where?’. Over the years, we established Geoawesomeness as a learning and conversation platform for all things location. It is our mission to build and empower a geospatial knowledge community,” they say.
Although the definition of geospatial may have changed, the intersection of science, technology and location remains the focus.
